Item 31 -- Carved Humpback Whale signed by Greg Pontius, Hawaii

   Year: Early 1990's
   Dimensions: 10 inches high
   Description/condition: This is a wonderful native wood sculpture of a Humpback Whale. It was carved by the well known artist Greg Pontius on the big Island of Hawaii and was purchased in the early 1990’s. If you google him you will find his web site. Currently a similar piece would sell for much more. This is in great shape with a grain hairline in each fin which can be seen in the pictures. I don’t know if one would call these flaws or they might have been there all along. I really don’t know but it definitely does not detract from its beauty. It stands 10" high and is solid throughout.
